Hypnotherapy FAQ

  • I'm not crazy. Why do I need to see a therapist?
Contrary to common myths about therapy, seeking therapy doesn’t mean that you’re crazy. If you find yourself reading this, you’ve actually taken one of the first steps to improve your current life situation. Often times we find ourselves feeling stuck; whether it’s in our relationships or in life. Sometimes we can feel uncertain about where our careers are going and just need an unbiased ear to hear us out. That’s one of the benefits you’ll find in seeking therapy; your unbiased ear is trained to do just that, hear you out.
  • Will you tell me what to do?
Will I tell you what to do? Let’s play it safe here and say “it depends.” Many times we know what we want to do, but are unsure of how to navigate the route to get there. Other times, we feel lost and don’t remember when we lost track of our lives. That’s when talking to a therapist comes into play, whether it’s helping guide you during your process of discovery or pointing out patterns that seem to have been disruptive for you in the past.
  • How can I improve my relationships?
Simply put, you can improve your relationships by becoming a better listener. Everyone wants to be heard and conflict typically arises when people feel like their opinions/views aren’t being heard or respected. Not only does listening include understanding how our feedback comes off to others, it starts with understanding ourselves.
  • What if I don't have the time to see a therapist?
If you don’t have time to see a therapist, maybe a consultation is more your style. We can consult via a telehealth platform or over the phone. Consultations are more of a sit down and let’s figure out how we can provide you with the tools necessary to improve your ability to function in life. Consultations or coaching sessions aren’t appropriate for every situation, so together we can decide how to proceed. If your schedule is tremendously booked, send an email or give us a call and we can discuss the possibility of a home or office visit.
  • I can't afford therapy!
You can’t afford therapy? With me you can. I provide a sliding scale where fees can be adjusted based on annual gross income (see the Therapeutic Services section for more details).
